Mid-States Poker Tour and Venetian Casino to team up for first annual Poker Bowl

In honor of this year’s Super Bowl, the Venetian Casino of Las Vegas and the Mid-States Poker Tour are teaming up to offer the first annual ‘Poker Bowl’. What better way to spend Super Bowl LI weekend than in Las Vegas, enjoying a quality poker tournament with Sunday free to enjoy the big game!

The tournament will take place from the 2nd to the 4th of February, beginning on Thursday and ending on Saturday, giving player’s time to enjoy the big game. The buy-in to the event is $1,100 and $300,000 will be up for grabs in the prize pool. The tournament will have two starting flights, one at noon on Thursday the 2nd and one on Friday, at noon on the 3rd. The tournament will then be back in action on Saturday playing down until a winner is named.

Bryan Mileski is the President of the MSPT who stated that for the past three years the MSPT Venetian summer event has been a great success in Nevada. Because of this, it only made sense to come back to the Venetian and offering players another tournament. Mileski stated that the ‘Poker Bowl’ gives players the perfect excuse to visit Las Vegas for Super Bowl weekend.

The ‘Poker Bowl’ event will be the first time the Mid-States Poker Tour has offered an event at the Venetian outside of the summer months. Last year, in June, the casino hosted the largest MSPT event in history with 2,887 players competing. Thomas Boivin would earn the win, taking home the largest prize ever awarded during an MSPT event with $352,153 in his pocket.

The ‘Poker Bowl’ will take place at the Venetian as part of their Deepstack Extravaganza. The Deepstack Extravaganza will offer up more than $2.5 million in guaranteed prize money from the 30th of January to the 27th of February. Players have the option to visit Las Vegas for some time in order to take part in quality poker gaming at the Venetian. It has also been revealed that the Venetian will be offering the summer event as well this year, though dates are still being considered.

Tommy LaRosa is the poker room manager for the Venetian who stated that the casino is excited to partner with the MSPT for two events this year starting with the Deepstack Extravaganza I and then in June with the Deepstack Extravaganza III. LaRosa stated that these are sure to be can’t miss events on the poker calendar with some of the largest fields and prize pools of the year.
