Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown dates and schedule announced

Hollywood, Florida’s Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is currently preparing for their popular Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown, a poker series set to begin this year on March 16th. Running through April 9th, the SHRP Showdown will coincide with the World Poker Tour for the second year in a row, featuring two events for Season XV.

Players attending the Showdown will have the ability to participate in the two World Poker Tour events, the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Championship and the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Finale. The first WPT event will have a buy-in of $3,500 while the Finale will have a larger buy-in of $10,000. For each of the WPT events, there will be a $2 million prize pool guarantee.

Additional tournaments on the schedule include the Super High Roller event which has a buy-in of $50,000, a $1 million guaranteed prize pool, taking place on March 29th and the 30th. A standard High Roller event takes place April 4th and 5th with a buy-in of $25,500 and a $1 million prize pool guarantee. From the 7th to the 9th, players can take part in the WPT Tournament of Championship, with a buy-in of $15,000. This event will be available for viewing via live stream at WPT.com and filmed for television to air at a later date.

A charity event has been added to the schedule for March 29th, having a $300 buy-in. proceeds will go towards the Jason Taylor Foundation which helps to support programs for children in South Florida to enjoy a better education, improved health care and overall quality of life.

The Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood poker room is currently offering satellites for the SHRP Showdown. Seats are up for grabs to the $25,500 High Roller for as low as $80 with $125 satellites on offer for the $10,000 Finale. $95 satellites are provided for the $3,500 Championship event. An online promotion is also be offered via www.HardRockPoker.com/Win, with a seat up for grabs to the Championship event.

In a press release, Seminole Gaming Director of Poker Marketing for Seminole Gaming, Jason Newman stated that the casino is excited to continue running some of the highest profile events in the world in South Florida. According to Newman, ‘the success of last year’s $10,000 buy-in in WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Finale and $25,500 High Roller allowed us to up the ante for this year’s event with the addition of a $50,000 Super High Roller’.
